Y.H. Damari has received the Gold Star for safety

With this, Damari has become the first company in Israel to receive the Gold Star as part of the Israel Builders Association’s Safety Stars program, aimed at preventing workplace accidents in the construction industry.

Yesterday (Sunday), Y.H. Damari was awarded the Gold Star for safety by representatives of "Tzomet Betihut," the body that manages the safety program, making Damari the first company in Israel to achieve this status. At the Gold Star award ceremony, Mati Revivi, engineer at the Israel Builders Association’s Safety Headquarters, noted:"Human life is a supreme value. For several years, we have been guiding developers and contractors through a process that will dramatically reduce workplace accidents at construction sites and enable a safe working environment. We are proud to award the first Gold Star in Israel to Damari, one of the largest and leading development companies in the country, which is working with determination to create a safe work environment and is even passing on this knowledge to other contractors. We hope that many companies currently participating in the process will join them soon."

Damari began participating in the program exactly three years ago, in September 2021, and within less than six months, it had already received its first safety star. In March 2024, it was awarded its fourth and fifth stars simultaneously. It has now been awarded the Gold Star in recognition of its contribution and support in enrolling the company's subcontractors into the Stars program, as well as for providing the infrastructure and training necessary to certify those contractors.

Chiko Ben Arie, an engineer at Damari, said:"We are proud to be the first company to receive the Gold Star. It reflects the importance and investment we place in safety, which is our top priority. We view the safety of our employees as a supreme value, and the commitment to safety that we have made is also directly linked to the quality of the construction and the projects we deliver to our customers."

Evitar Peretz, Safety Manager at Damari, added:"This achievement is the result of consistent efforts, cooperation, and a constant pursuit of excellence."

The Israel Builders Association’s Safety Headquarters established the Stars program about five years ago and has since been awarding safety stars to companies that undergo specialized training. The training is provided by a special team of current and former pilots who bring the debriefing culture used in the Air Force to the construction world. It combines theoretical workshops and on-site training, while certifying the entire decision-making hierarchy within the company. The "Safety Stars" program is positioning itself as a benchmark for investment in safety and efforts to prevent accidents. The more "safety stars" a construction company has, the more preference it will receive in government tender processes. The program was initiated by the joint Safety Headquarters of the Israel Builders Association and the National Union of Construction and Wood Workers, and is supported by the Manof Fund of the National Insurance Institute and the Fund for the Encouragement and Development of the Construction Industry in Israel.

Y.H. Damari, controlled by Yigal Damari, has been operating in Israel since 1989. The company specializes in the initiation, planning, and execution of residential projects across the country, as well as the initiation, construction, management, and leasing of income-generating real estate projects.
